Salted

Whiskey.

Un-fucking-apologetically ourselves. Always.

One of us is salty. The other is smooth like whiskey. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which is which. But we promise—hang with us long enough, and you’ll experience both the salty and the smooth.

We thrive on collaborating with entrepreneurs and startups who understand the importance of owning the conversation, not just participating in it.

We seek out those who aren’t afraid to be themselves, who want to do things differently, create a stir, and shake up their industry. We partner with brands aspiring to be epic in their category.

This is who we are. We own it. We live it. We are not basic; we are epic, and we do epic work for our clients.

Erin Abbatangelo

Erin has been leading brand and communications strategies for over 25 years. Her career began leading communications at Bank of Montreal before transitioning into leading brand and communication strategy at several downtown Toronto agencies for clients such as Bank of America, Susan G. Koman, Colgate-Palmolive, Clorox, Schick, Movember, Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, World Vision and Heart & Stroke Lottery.

In 2017, Erin started a Brand and Communications company, Authentically Erin, and has enjoyed working with companies of all sizes as a Business + Brand Consultant, leading brand and communication strategies and implementation plans for her clients. She specializes in building brands through her extensive experience in research + insight development, storytelling and building out marketing channels, like websites, email, blogging, search, and social. In 2018, she partnered with Nikki in a joint venture, Salted Whiskey, combining their experience and expertise to create rich brand and communication experiences.

While her career has been focused on brand and communications, she has a post-graduate education in project management from the Schulich School of Business.

In her spare time, Erin is dedicated to helping at the community level and volunteers with/supports Abuse Hurts, Rock with Love (in support of St. Mike’s), The Maddie Project and Out of The Cold.

Nikki Betinelli

Nikki has been leading social and digital media strategies for almost 15 years – yup, that’s nearly as old as Twitter (X). Her career began as an intern at the Liberty Entertainment Group, leading their social media efforts. She then transitioned into creating her position (yes, social media was still that new!) at Empire Communities, where she led their content and social media strategy. Shortly after leaving Empire in 2014, Nikki started her own Digital Marketing Agency in downtown Toronto, working with clients like Mike Holmes – HGTV, the Toronto Police Association, What’s Up walk-in, the Building and Land Development Association, the Italian Contemporary Film Festival, PayTM Canada, Delos Canada, Help Ahead, Yorktown Family Services, Strides Toronto and more!

Entrepreneurship runs in Nikki’s blood – thanks to her dad! – but when she set out early in her career, she never imagined she’d be here – helping brands thrive in a digital world. From ideation to planning and implementation, Nikki manages all aspects of her client’s digital presence, including social media management, PR and influencer marketing, communications and digital advertising.

After running NB Media Inc. successfully for 8 years, Nikki co-founded Salted Whiskey, a branding and communication agency, with Erin to provide clients with a holistic approach to their brand and communications strategy.

In her spare time, Nikki supports many of the youth mental health agencies she works with, spends time exploring the world and hanging out with her bulldogs, Frank and Luna.
